My Journey as an Artist and Craftsmen.

I have always been around art almost 24/7. This was largely due to the fact that my Dad was a professional photographer, and my mom is an art teacher. Art is in my blood, because My passion for pottery came from buying planters from my older sisters friends who were in college. I desperately wanted to be able to craft pottery but nothing was set into motion until my high school PTA bought new wheels and a new kiln. These tools allowed me to teach myself the basics of pottery, how to center, pull walls, and trim. My skills were further enhanced when I was gifted a six week potter class for Christmas this was when I learned the correct way to do things and I have been learning ever since! This is my story as an artist and craftsmen.

“Most of my photos sucked but photography gave me purpose.”

At the beginning of 2017 I picked up my first DSLR for $75 (thank you Andrew Ludwig <3). Little did I know what God was going to do with my Nikon d40 and the experiences he was going to give me. Despite the trash talk I experience behind my back at school I continued to quench my curiosity. Watching as many YouTube videos as I could about how cameras worked and how to use them. Walking all over and took as many pictures I could. Looking for every opportunity to take photos. Although most of my photos sucked but photography gave me purpose.

“My progress over the past months has nothing but amazed me. I would not be where I am today if I didn’t have the support from my friends and family as well as financial support from my first customers to make it this far.”

Thought high school I was always passionate about art and used it as an outlet to express what I was experiencing in my personal life. Since entering Biola University I have decided to double major in Studio Art and Cinema and Media arts. I cant wait to see how I grow and change as an artist over these next four years.

Although I would like to consider myself a “jack of all trades” the most challenging part of college has been narrowing focus and my passion into one thing. Even though I am good at many things and it is good to learn and try new things out, it has been a tough realization that if I don’t focus on something I wont reach my true potential in that medium. Luckily for me I have 4 years to figure my shit out.

As of right now I plan on exploring the rolls of Art director, special effects artist, and location scout as future positions I might hold on Movie sets. But thats the thing about college, its all about learning about what you enjoy and pursuing it.
